AXIS News via Princinct Reporter

Story released on AXIS Foundation, Inc’s Financial Literacy Seminars.

“Except for the very fortunate top two percent of Americans making over $250,000 a year, financial literacy is still an area that has left most working and low- and even moderate-income families stumped for answers.

Saving and growing money on a tight budget, where to invest, what to expect when buying a car or a home, how to double cash flow in the next six months are not just questions that usually keep parents awake at night.”

See the remainder of article by Dianne Anderson…  http://precinctreporter.com/community/inland-empire/1337-financial-literacy-classes-for-kids

What are your thoughts.  Should this be an important part of childhood curriculum?

TV’s impact on youth

Too much TV psychologically harms kids: study – Yahoo! News

“The researchers found that children who spent two hours or more a day watching television or playing on a computer were more likely to get high scores on the questionnaire, indicating they had more psychological difficulties than kids who did not spend a lot of time in front of a screen.”

For more, please visit the attached link… below.  In the meantime, does this change your thoughts about tv?  Does it provide another approach to understanding the damage that tv is doing?  How do we keep our youth occupied?  What alternatives are there?  For other stories visit http://www.axisfound.org

Maybe it means spending more time with your children. TV can become the babysitter if we are not careful.  My best to you as your contemplate this issue.

Youth Motivation …

It is important to get involved with our youth. Participation is key. AXIS had an opportunity with “Grind4Nine” a softball team made up of youth and adults. It was a wonderful occasion to see support and the teambuilding that occured over the summer. I would recommend that we all find a way of getting involved with our young people… It has the potential to lead to the possiblity of direction and success. An example can speak a thousand words! Get involved… who knows where it will lead.

If there is anything that brings community together, and emphasizes family and community, this is something that we should all support and participate in. I know I will be attending on Sunday (After my sons morning soccer game) ;-)

Remember… Find out more about Stater Brothers 21st Annual Event at http://www.route-66.org/
